AIME Empowers “State Captains” To Represent Mortgage Experts Nationwide

Mortgage News July 11, 2023

In the vast landscape of the United States, the role of a US senator holds immense significance, with the Constitution granting each state the privilege of having two senators to advocate for constituents’ interests. Following a similar principle, the Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME) has recently introduced its groundbreaking “state captains” initiative, aimed at amplifying the voices of its diverse membership.

AIME’s website succinctly captures the mission of the initiative: “Thousands of members. Dedicated champions in each state. One powerful voice.” The state captains’ laser-focused dedication, combined with their unique areas of expertise, drives their unwavering commitment.

The advocacy state captains play a vital role as they volunteer their time and energy to actively engage with their local communities and drive state-level legislative efforts. Their passion and commitment serve as catalysts for change, championing the interests of AIME members and ensuring their voices are heard at the highest levels of government. Conversely, community state captains leverage their volunteer efforts to bolster AIME’s initiatives on social media, creating a powerful ripple effect that reaches communities nationwide.

President of Amerifund Home Loans Inc. and AIME’s Vice President of Outreach, Jamie Cavanaugh, shed light on these pivotal roles. Advocacy captains not only serve as conduits between AIME and its members but also gauge the concerns and priorities of fellow members, ensuring that the organization remains responsive and relevant.

Arizona, for instance, demands specific requirements for preapproving clients, necessitating weekly data submissions, Cavanaugh highlighted. Furthermore, she emphasized the nuanced differences in Texas, California, and Florida, which distinguish them from other states.

The state captains initiative, as envisioned by AIME CEO Katie Sweeney, emerges as a natural progression of the organization’s rapid growth. By fostering a state-by-state network of engagement, AIME aims to strengthen its nationwide fabric and further support its overarching objectives.

While the state captains initiative has already gained substantial momentum, there are still several states awaiting dedicated representatives. These states include Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming. As AIME continues to expand its reach, these vacant positions present exciting opportunities for passionate individuals to make a lasting impact.
